These Official Rules form part of the FightStar Interclub Participation & Liability Agreement.By registering for an event and accepting the online disclaimer, all competitors agree to be bound by these Rules in full.

Failure to comply may result in bout stoppage, disqualification, or removal from the event.

1. EVENT FORMAT

FightStar Interclub events are controlled contact interclubs, designed to give competitors experience in a safe, structured environment.

  • Bouts are based on skill and control, not power
  • The emphasis is on development, learning, and sportsmanship
  • Excessive aggression or dangerous behaviour will not be tolerated
2. MATCHMAKING

Competitors are matched based on the following, exact matches cannot be guranteed. If a suitable matchup cannot be found, the bout may be cancelled.

  • Age
  • Weight
  • Experience Level
3. DISCIPLINE RULES

Competitors must follow the specific rules of their discipline. These rules are enforced strictly for safety and fairness. Any technique deemed dangerous or uncontrolled may result in immediate stoppage.

MMA (INTERCLUB)

  • Standing head strikes permitted for adults only
  • No head strikes for juniors
  • No knees or elbows to the head
  • Controlled ground striking only
  • Submissions permitted (no heel hooks, twisters, neck cranks)
  • Referee may stand competitors up at any time

K-1 KICKBOXING

  • Controlled striking only
  • No Elbows
  • No excessive force
  • Clinch allowed briefly for knee strikes (referee controlled)
  • Referee may issue warnings or stop the bout if control is lost

BOXING

  • Controlled boxing only
  • No wild swinging or excessive aggression
  • Head and body shots permitted (age-dependent)
  • Referee controls pace and safety at all times
4. PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Competitors must wear appropriate safety equipment, failiure to comply may result in bout cancellation:

MMA

  • MMA sparring gloves (7–8oz)
  • Gum Shield
  • Groin Guard
  • Shin Guard
  • Rashguard or suitable top
  • Shorts with no pockets or zips

BOXING/K-1 KICKBOXING

  • Boxing gloves (provided or specified)
  • Gum Sheild
  • Groin Guard
  • Shin Guards (K1)
  • Headguard (Juniors + As Advised)
5. REFEREE AUTHORITY & CONDUCT

Referees have absolute authority and are allowed to do the following:

  • Issue warnings
  • Pause or stop the bout
  • Disqualify competitors
  • Prevent unsportsmanlike conduct
6. MEDICAL FITNESS

By competing, all competitors confirm they are medically fit and capable of participating unless otherwise declared.
